What’s in a poster download?
Two versions of the same poster, white and washi. Each comes as PDFs in four proportions (2:3, 3:4, 4:5, and A-series) plus high-resolution PNGs, with a sizing guide and a short how-to-print sheet. Print the one that fits your frame and ignore the rest.
Which file should I print?
Match the proportion to your frame: 2:3 for 24×36 in, 3:4 for 18×24 in, 4:5 for 16×20 or 8×10 in, and A-series for A1 through A4. The sizing guide lists more. Print at 100% (sometimes called “actual size”) so nothing gets squeezed.
White or washi?
White is the easy one: it prints cleanly at home or at a copy shop. Washi is the warm paper tone you see in the photos, and it looks best from a print shop. Ask for borderless printing, or trim the edge. On a bright screen washi can look almost white; in print you’ll see the warmth. Colors always shift a little between screen and paper, so the print is the one to go by.
Can I print a poster at home?
Smaller sizes, yes: an 8×10 or A4 fits a home printer. Anything wall-sized needs a local print shop or an online printing service. I’m working on printed posters I can ship to you, but they aren’t in the shop yet.
What paper should I ask for?
A heavier matte stock holds up well and won’t glare under a lamp. Any print shop will know what you mean by “matte poster paper.” Glossy works too if you like it. It’s going on your wall, so ask for what you’d want to look at every day.
How do I print the pocket cards and study cards?
Both print fine at home. Pocket cards come four to a sheet: print at 100%, on cardstock if you have it, then cut on the corner marks and fold on the dotted line with the printed side out. A print shop can run them on heavier stock if you want something that survives a few months in a bag. Study cards come with a home-print sheet that folds over into a 4×6 card, plus a print-shop file if you’d rather have them printed double-sided.
A file won’t open, or downloaded wrong.
Write to me at orders@brushtalking.com and I’ll send a working file or refund it.
Can I share a file, or use one for my class?
Your download is for your own use, and a classroom you teach counts. If a friend wants one, send them here. The License page has the details.
